Challenges of children living with sickle cell anaemia could be acute and chronic; acute event ranges from acute painful crisis, acute chest syndrome and splenic/hepatic sequestration crisis. Chronic/end organ damages include stroke, sickle cell cardiomyopathy, sickle cell nephropathy, avascular necrosis of head of femur but to mention a few including psycho-social impact on children and the family. In view of the burden of the disorder and its impact on children living with the disorders, we at Abby’s paediatric care have a team of well-coordinated expert with international world class affiliation to offer cutting edge treatment and warm supportive care (in-patient/out-patient).
